Centuries of Japanese craft. Tea with character.
Matcha, stone-ground the way Japan has done it for centuries. Sourced for colour, sweetness and that vivid green pour: an effortless latte blend for the bar, and a pure ceremonial grade for the drinks that make your menu famous. Tea with character, poured daily.
Why our matcha?
1 · True ceremonial grade
Shade-grown first-harvest Tencha, slowly stone-milled in Japan, the way it has been for centuries. The bright green that tastes as good as it photographs.
2 · Nothing artificial
No artificial flavourings, colourings or additives. Naturally sweetened with coconut sugar where you want sweetness.
3 · Calm, focused energy
The lift coffee can't match: the calm focus Zen monks once whisked matcha for, and your wellness-minded customers are actively seeking.
4 · Bar-friendly by design
Measure, whisk with a frother, top with milk. Hot or iced from the same pouch. No clumps, no fuss.
The range
The craft of stone-milled matcha, made for the modern bar: 100% ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha, naturally sweetened with coconut sugar and a warming hint of cinnamon. Smooth, creamy and built for high-volume service.
Pure ceremonial matcha: first-harvest Tencha, slowly ground and whisked to a smooth, vivid green. Serve it straight in a traditional bowl, or as the base for drinks that justify a premium price.
The difference
Put enough vanilla syrup into poor matcha and someone will probably drink it. But your regulars can tell the difference, and so can the internet.
| J&J Matcha | Typical sweetened mixes & culinary-grade powder | |
|---|---|---|
| Grade | 100% ceremonial-grade Japanese Tencha | Often culinary-grade: duller, bitter, made for hiding |
| Ingredients | Real leaf, coconut sugar, cinnamon. Nothing artificial | Frequently artificial flavourings, colourings and fillers |
| Colour & taste | Vivid green, smooth, gently sweet | Yellow-green, astringent, syrup-forward |
| Provenance | Real Tencha, sourced each season from Japan's historic tea regions. A story you can tell | Unnamed blends, no story worth putting on the menu |
Comparisons describe common sweetened mixes and culinary-grade powders, not any specific product.
How it works
8.25g Latte Blend + 30ml hot water, then top with 200ml of milk. Same rhythm every time.
1
8.25g of Latte Blend into a jug or wide cup.
2
Add 30ml at ~80°C, then whisk to a fine froth with a bamboo whisk (chasen) or milk frother. The same motion used for centuries.
3
Top with milk of choice, hot and steamed or over ice. From the same pouch.
Need the kit? We supply the traditional tools too: the bamboo whisk (chasen), a ceramic mixing bowl and the matcha portion spoon that takes the guesswork out of an 8.25g dose. Everything a bar needs to serve matcha properly, from day one.

And the cost side? Matcha is a light powder — a latte uses grams, not ounces — so the matcha cost per cup is typically a few tens of pence against a £3.80–£4.80 menu price. Your exact per-cup maths comes with your sample pack and quote. No guesswork.
